Yeah.. I said it!

I can smell it.. can you? For those of you who know me it's not what you're thinking but then ... never mind. I'm referring to the panic, the fear, the desperation. Over the last 12 months or so we have been slowly trying to accept the possibility that our great country was fastly approaching a dangerous crossroads. We feared that the election would usher in a frightening new style of government and that the United States, as we knew it, would no longer exist.

What we've felt recently was similar to the feeling I had when I first joined the Army, before Basic Training. I knew that my life would change and I was nervous but was not really scared. I was worried about how I'd cope with the change but was anxious to get it started.

Then the moment I stepped onto Ft Benning for Basic Training my sense of curious anxiety turned to outright realization. I was locked into it, for better or worse the grim reality that I was to become a direct target to every enemy of the USA had set in and I thought I was going to puke.

That's where we are today.. We knew that Obama would make an effort to turn our freedoms upside down and tear away the very foundation of our great nation. We had anticipated the potential for his success but were not convinced that he could really push his socialism down our throats. We were willing to wait and see how far he'd get and hopeful that he'd get bogged down in the same political quagmire that has kept all of the would be radicals at bay in the past.

Now it has begun to sink in, the lump in our throats has become a knot in our stomachs and we are facing the prospect that our children would be robbed of the great freedoms that we'd been blessed with throughout our lives. We see the fire burning and have come to realize that the fire department is not coming to rescue our homes.

Yet, even as we watch the fabric of our flag disintegrate before our eyes we lie in wait. We know that there must be a way to save it but we stand helpless, lacking the resources to act in a big enough way to affect change.

But then, there is a way.. it seems drastic.. it sounds crazy... it doesn't seem plausible that it could ever come to this but could we... might we... do we stand up and fight? We are all thinking it but we are afraid to be the guy that lets that genie out of it's bottle. For good reason, that would be the beginning of the end for the whole world. We, the United States, are the protectors of freedom around the world. We keep evil in it's place and if we were weakend by a revolution we would surly give the dark forces an opportunity to pounce on all who can not protect themselves.

I can tell that you, like I, have thought of this eventuality and are considering all of the ramifications of this would be battle for freedom. I also know that you are drawing lines in your mind to serve as the signal that it's no longer time to talk but time to fight. With that I have watched as we (conservatives) have allowed the left to keep moving that line closer and closer to us. We are a compassionate group. We want nothing more than to simply convince the left to turn around and bring back the Ideals that have made this nation so great.

Now that it's out in the open we need to come together and paint that line with an indelible ink and present it to the left. Not as a threat but as a promise! A promise that our forefathers made and that generations since then have turned over their lives to keep. We need a new contract with America that leaves no doubt to our intentions to keep America the beacon on the hill and the protector of our God given rights to LIFE, LIBERTY and the PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS!
